Journal of Molecular Parasitology and Microbiology

Advancing the understanding of parasites, microorganisms, and host-pathogen relationships through rigorous, freely accessible research.

About the Journal

Journal of Molecular Parasitology and Microbiology is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to original research spanning parasitology, medical microbiology, and the biology of host-pathogen relationships. The journal covers current discoveries in the molecular and cellular biology of parasites and microorganisms, including their physiology, morphology, taxonomy, ecology, immunology, pathology, and epidemiology. We welcome original research articles, short communications, review articles, and case reports. Publication is free of charge to authors under a full open-access model, ensuring findings reach researchers, clinicians, and policymakers worldwide without barriers.

Cryptosporidium Species Diversity in Pediatric Diarrheal Disease: A Molecular Epidemiology Study

Priya Nair

Cryptosporidiosis is a major cause of pediatric diarrheal illness in low-resource settings. This study applies molecular typing to characterize Cryptosporidium species and subtype diversity among children under five presenting with acute diarrhea.

Gastrointestinal Nematode Burden and Anthelmintic Efficacy in Small Ruminants

Ahmed Farouk

Gastrointestinal nematode infections cause substantial productivity losses in small ruminant husbandry. This study assesses parasite burden and benzimidazole anthelmintic efficacy across sheep and goat flocks in the Nile Delta region.

Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns in Uropathogenic Escherichia coli Isolated from Tertiary Care Hospitals

Fatima Al-Hassan, Noura Al-Mutairi

Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) is the leading cause of urinary tract infections worldwide. This surveillance study evaluates antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of UPEC isolates from three tertiary hospitals, highlighting rising resistance to fluoroquinolones and extended-spectrum beta-lactams.

Molecular Characterization of Plasmodium falciparum Kelch13 Mutations Associated with Artemisinin Resistance

Amina El-Sayed, Youssef Nabil

Artemisinin resistance in Plasmodium falciparum is closely linked to mutations in the Kelch13 propeller domain. This study characterizes the prevalence and functional impact of Kelch13 polymorphisms across clinical isolates from endemic regions, providing insight into resistance surveillance strategies.
